Take a Look Around is the debut solo studio album by American rapper Masta Ace. It was released on July 24, 1990 through Cold Chillin' Records with distribution via Reprise Records. Recording sessions took place at House Of Hits in Chestnut Ridge, New York and at Libra Digital Sound in Long Island City. Production was handled by Marley Marl and Mister Cee.
Background[edit]
After appearing on the classic hip hop crew cut 'The Symphony' with the Juice Crew in 1988, Ace released his first single, 'Together' b/w 'Letter to the Better' in 1989. 'Together' was included in the album as well as a remixed version of 'Letter to the Better'.
Released in June 1990, 'Me and the Biz' (b/w 'I Got Ta') peaked at #47 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and #8 on the Hot Rap Songs. The song, a tribute of sorts to labelmate Biz Markie, in which Ace plays the role of both himself and Biz (who reportedly couldn't make it to the studio for the actual collaboration he desired), was later featured on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as a song in rotation on the fictional radio station Playback FM. A single for 'I Got Ta' was released only in the UK and Europe.
Reaching a peak position of number thirteen on the Hot Rap Songs, the album's third single, 'Music Man' (b/w 'Ace Iz Wild'), remained on the chart for a total of nine weeks.
'Movin' On' (b/w 'Go Where I Send Thee') was released on March 6, 1991 as the final single from Take a Look Around. Ethical issues in modern medicine steinbock pdf to jpg free.

Twenty-eight years ago, Masta Ace released his debut album, Take A Look Around. From that title onward, the gifted MC has always made Brooklyn, New York an essential muse in his art. The neighborhoods, people, and landmarks have been more than just a backdrop too. Ace was in the founding lineup of the Crooklyn Dodgers. On his own, he has chronicled “Brooklyn Battles,” invited listeners to “Take A Walk” through his hood, and retraced his steps growing up on 2016’s The Falling Season. Even when the MC specialized in more West Coast-tinged tracks, the party never strayed from being a 7-1-8 affair.
Masta Ace Take A Walk
Ace keeps B.K. in focus for his next album. However, this one is a collaborative affair. A Breukelen Story (November 9) finds the Juice Crew member and co-founder of Masta Ace Incorporated and The eMC teaming up with longtime collaborator Marco Polo. While the former Rawkus Records and Duck Down Music producer/DJ is a Canadian export, he too, has made Brooklyn his home.
On debut single “Brooklyn,” Ace and Polo team up with Smif-n-Wessun for a proper Bucktown salute. While in the late ’80s and early ’90s, many BK anthems were about stick-up kids (or “originoo gun-clappaz”) taking do-or-die chances, this is a mature homage to an evolving place. Ace, Tek, and General Steele honor the families, the workers, and the enduring spirit that makes this section of New York City just so legendary. Meanwhile, Marco laces a pensive piano cut that is the perfect backdrop to spread love (the Brooklyn way) over. The visual complements the message, with sequences of diners, strolls across the Brooklyn Bridge, and shout-outs to some of the most important Rap stars from “The Planet.”
The Fat Beats Records album artwork features an old photo of a Brooklyn sidewalk. As Mos Def rapped, “Brooklyn keeps on takin’ it.“ Those words apply to the Holland town (which is where the album gets its spelling from) that inspired the NYC borough.
According to Complex, who premiered the video, the November 9 LP involves Pharaohe Monch, Styles P, Lil Fame, Elzhi, Marlon Craft, and Pav Bundy among others. The eMC is also reported to make a return on the cut, reuniting the crew consisting of Ace, Wordsworth, Punch, and Milwaukee’s Strick. Outside of his group work, Ace has shared albums with the likes of MF DOOM and Edo. G. Outside of his own celebrated catalog, Marco has previously produced on albums by Monch, Talib Kweli and Styles, as well as KRS-One & Buckshot.
Steele and Tek are soon to release The A.L.L., produced by 9th Wonder & The Soul Council. Last month, they released single, “Let It Go.”
